Piping designer

Overview:

The Piping Designer plays a crucial role in the engineering and design of piping systems for industrial commercial and residential projects. They are responsible for creating detailed plans and drawings to ensure the efficient and safe transport of liquids and gases. The position is vital in ensuring that piping systems meet industry standards and regulatory requirements while also adhering to project specifications and budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements
• Develop comprehensive piping plans and layouts using computeraided design (CAD) software
• Create detailed engineering drawings and schematics for piping systems
• Perform stress analysis and hydraulic calculations to ensure the integrity and functionality of the piping systems
• Conduct site visits to gather relevant information for design and modification
• Review and interpret technical documents specifications and standards
• Coordinate with project teams to integrate piping designs with overall project requirements
• Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with design standards and regulatory requirements
• Provide support during the construction and installation phases of piping systems
• Participate in design reviews and offer technical expertise and recommendations
• Utilize 3D modeling software to create and visualize piping designs
• Contribute to project planning and scheduling by providing accurate design timelines and estimates
• Keep abreast of industry trends and advancements in piping design technology
• Resolve design issues and modify plans based on project requirements and feedback
• Adhere to safety protocols and standards throughout the design process

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or relevant field
• Proven experience as a Piping Designer or similar role
• Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and other CAD software
• Strong understanding of piping codes standards and regulations (e.g. ASME ASTM API)
• Proficiency in creating and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics
• Knowledge of stress analysis and hydraulic calculations for piping systems
• Experience in 3D modeling software for visualizing piping designs
• Excellent project management and organizational skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams
• Strong problemsolving abilities and attention to detail
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with industryspecific tools and software for piping design
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fastpaced and dynamic environment
• Understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to piping design and installation
• Certification in Piping Design or relevant field is a plus
