Role Overview

Datafuel is seeking a motivated and target-oriented business development executive to join our sales and business development team. This 6-month probation + PPO program is designed to provide comprehensive, hands-on exposure to the end-to-end sales cycle, including lead generation, prospecting, pitching, follow-ups, and deal closure. Candidates who demonstrate strong performance, ownership, effective communication skills, and consistency throughout the probation period may be considered for a full-time role with Datafuel.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead generation & prospecting: Generate and qualify leads through cold calling, LinkedIn outreach, Instagram DMs, cold emails, and other relevant channels. Build targeted prospect lists and identify key decision-makers. Conduct market research and maintain a structured sales pipeline.
2. Sales & call handling: Manage inbound inquiries and conduct outbound calls to understand prospect requirements and identify potential business opportunities. Qualify leads based on budget, authority, need, and intent. Schedule relevant discovery calls or product demos.
3. Pitching & conversion: Participate in sales calls via Google Meet or Zoom and present Datafuel's offerings effectively. Understand client requirements and handle basic objections. Support the movement of prospects through the sales funnel and contribute to conversions.
4. Follow-ups & deal closure: Ensure timely and consistent follow-ups via calls, WhatsApp, email, and LinkedIn. Maintain regular communication with prospects and minimize lead drop-offs. Support the sales team in progressing deals toward closure.
5. Sales learning & development: Gain practical exposure to b2b sales and business development. Contribute to sales scripts, outreach messaging, pitch decks, and other sales enablement materials. Learn from interactions and provide feedback to improve sales processes.

Performance measurement:

Performance will be evaluated based on lead generation, number of calls conducted, qualified meetings or demos scheduled, conversion rates, pipeline development, follow-up discipline, CRM accuracy, and overall contribution to revenue generation. The role requires a strong focus on measurable outcomes, accountability, and consistent execution.

Who we're looking for:

We are looking for graduates with strong communication skills who are confident in client-facing conversations and genuinely interested in sales and business development. Candidates should be comfortable with cold calling, targets, and outbound sales activities. A proactive mindset, self-motivation, and willingness to learn are essential. Freshers are welcome; however, graduates are preferred.

Probation + PPO:

This is a 6-month probation + PPO opportunity. Candidates who demonstrate strong performance, consistently meet or exceed targets, take ownership of their responsibilities, and show long-term potential within the sales function may be offered a pre-placement offer (PPO) for a full-time business development role upon successful completion of the probation. The PPO is performance-based and not guaranteed.

The selected candidate will receive a salary of up to Rs 20,000 per month during probation, along with structured exposure to B2B sales, mentorship, and on-the-job training. The role offers clear performance expectations and strong career growth opportunities. It can be fully remote or based out of our Lower Parel, Mumbai office. High-performing candidates will have the opportunity to progress into roles such as BDE, Senior BDE, and future sales leadership positions.
