We are building a technology-driven platform where AI can play a major role in improving how travelers discover experiences, how operators manage their businesses, and how the platform scales efficiently.

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and curious AI Engineer Intern to join our technology team and work on real-world AI applications for Boatigo.

The intern will work on developing AI-powered features, automation systems, intelligent search/recommendation capabilities, data processing pipelines, and integrations with modern AI models and APIs.

This is a hands-on role suited for someone who wants to move beyond tutorials and gain experience building AI systems for a real startup product.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate AI/ML features into Boatigo's web and mobile products.
• Work with LLMs, Generative AI, and AI APIs to build practical product features.
• Develop AI-powered chatbots, assistants, recommendation systems, and automation workflows.
• Work with structured and unstructured data to prepare datasets for AI applications.
• Build and optimize data processing and AI pipelines.
• Experiment with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), embeddings, vector databases, and semantic search .
• Integrate AI models and APIs such as OpenAI or other suitable LLM platforms.
• Develop prompt engineering strategies and evaluate AI-generated outputs.
• Explore AI-based personalization and experience recommendation systems.
• Collaborate with developers and product/design teams to integrate AI features into the Boatigo application.
• Test, debug, and improve AI systems for accuracy, reliability, and performance.
• Research emerging AI tools, frameworks, and technologies that can improve Boatigo's products and operations.

Requirements

• Strong programming knowledge in Python .
• Basic understanding of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence concepts.
• Familiarity with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) .
• Understanding of APIs and integrating third-party AI services.
• Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, or similar frameworks is a plus.
• Basic understanding of embeddings, vector databases, and RAG is preferred.
• Familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of Git/GitHub and software development practices.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to research, experiment, and learn new AI technologies quickly.

Good to Have

• Experience with OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, or other LLM APIs.
• Experience with FAISS, Pinecone, Chroma, Weaviate, or other vector databases .
• Knowledge of PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience building AI agents or multi-agent workflows.
• Familiarity with AI automation tools such as n8n, Make, or similar platforms.
• Experience deploying AI applications using cloud platforms.
• Previous AI/ML projects or a GitHub portfolio.
