Senior Software Development Engineer - Java Technologies

Job Summary : We are seeking a Sr. Software Engineer (Java / Backend) with deep expertise in Java technologies to help drive the design and development of scalable, high-performance applications used by leading financial institutions worldwide. This individual will be responsible for delivering robust, secure, and maintainable code, participating in solution design discussions, and contributing to product evolution in alignment with business goals.The ideal candidate has hands-on experience across the Java/J2EE stack and thrives in collaborative, Agile environments that promote continuous learning and improvement.Key Responsibilities : - Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java/J2EE applications using technologies including Hibernate, Spring Framework, REST APIs, Servlets, multithreading, and socket programming.- Take end-to-end ownership of development tasks, from requirement analysis through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code; participate actively in peer code reviews and promote engineering best practices across the team.- Apply secure coding practices and contribute to application-level security, including participation in vulnerability assessments, static analysis reviews, and remediation of security findings.- Work within the CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins, ensuring code is built, tested, and deployed in a consistent and repeatable manner.- Troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues, ensuring timely resolution in collaboration with QA and support teams.- Participate in technical design reviews and contribute to improving code quality, performance, and system reliability.- Work closely with product managers, QA, and cross-functional teams to translate functional requirements into sound technical solutions.- Continuously explore and recommend new frameworks, tools, or libraries that can improve development efficiency and maintainability.- Engage actively in sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.- Contribute to a knowledge-sharing culture through documentation, design discussions, and team collaboration.- Takes initiative in identifying and addressing technical challenges early, proactively flagging risks to timelines and working with the team to resolve blockers before they escalate.- Comfortable working in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum environment, taking ownership of sprint commitments and consistently delivering well-tested, production-ready code on time, adapting quickly to shifting priorities without compromising on quality.Qualifications : - B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent.- 5 - 7 years of software development experience with strong Java/J2EE fundamentals.- Extensive hands-on experience in Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, Hibernate, Servlets, REST APIs, JavaScript, multithreading, and socket programming.- Familiarity with service-oriented or microservices architectures, message queues, caching strategies, and distributed system design.- Strong command of design patterns, data structures, and object-oriented principles.- Extensive working experience in secure coding practices and application-level security, including vulnerability assessment, static analysis, dynamic testing, and third-party library security review.- Experience with Oracle or SQL Server databases - writing complex SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning.- Experience with JBoss / WildFly application server; familiarity with Windows Server or Linux hosting environments.- Experience with unit testing, TDD, and automation frameworks (JUnit or equivalent).- Experience using SVN, Git, JIRA, Jenkins, and CI/CD tools.- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills.Nice to Have : - Working knowledge of Angular and Frontend components.- Familiarity with C++ or experience integrating Java applications with native / C++ components via SOAP or similar protocols.- Experience with JSP in a legacy enterprise application context.Cultural Fit : - Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.- Analytical mindset with solid problem-solving capabilities.- Well-organized and detail-oriented with strong documentation habits.- Passion for clean code, continuous learning, and professional growth.- Adaptable to changing priorities and evolving technical landscapes.- A self-starter who takes ownership and delivers with minimal supervision.
