About the job

As an 'Analyst', you will work closely with the principal consultant to provide end-to end support across investment research, financial analysis, transaction research, and deal execution. The role involves gathering and analyzing financial and business information, conducting company and industry research, preparing transaction materials, and supporting clients throughout the deal lifecycle.

Key responsibilities:

A. Investment and company research

1. Conduct detailed research on companies, industries, sectors, markets, competitors, and macroeconomic trends.
2. Gather, validate, and analyze information from company filings, annual reports, investor presentations, industry reports, databases, and other public and proprietary sources.
3. Prepare company profiles, industry overviews, competitive landscapes, market updates, and investment research.
4. Track relevant company, industry, market, and transaction developments.

B. Financial analysis and financial spreading

1. Extract, organize, and analyze financial and operating data from company filings and other sources.
2. Perform financial spreading of income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, segment information, and key operating metrics.
3. Analyze historical financial performance, growth, margins, profitability, working capital, leverage, and other key financial metrics.
4. Prepare financial and operating analyses to support investment and transaction decisions.

C. Transaction & deal support

1. Prepare trading and transaction comps, deal summaries, investment notes, deal memos, pitch books, and competitive analysis.
2. Assist with information gathering and analysis for commercial, financial, and investment due diligence.

D. Data & information management

1. Identify relevant sources and efficiently collect, organize, and structure financial, operational, and market data.
2. Cross-check information across multiple sources to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
3. Develop and maintain research databases, comparable company sets, transaction datasets, and industry data.

Who can apply

Other requirements

1. MBA, CFA, CA, or a postgraduate qualification in finance from a reputed institute is preferred.

2. Strong understanding of accounting, financial statements, and financial analysis.

3. Strong interest in investment research, private equity, M&A, corporate finance, and financial markets.

4. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely.

6. Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with financial data and company information.

7. Ability to understand client requirements, take ownership of assignments, and deliver high-quality work within short, time-bound deadlines.

8. Prior experience in investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, equity research, consulting, or financial research would be an advantage.
