About the job

The teacher champion will conduct structured English-learning sessions for assigned students and help them participate, practise and improve in English. The role includes classroom teaching, lesson preparation, learner support, student evidence collection, assessment support, basic AI-IVRS participation support, documentation, relationship-building with school stakeholders, monthly programme-update meetings and identification of school-based opportunities through which students can practise English even when the Edspectrum team is not present. The Teacher Champion is also expected to actively participate in all assigned trainings, workshops, step-back meetings and internal or external learning opportunities organised in physical or virtual spaces as part of professional learning and programme implementation. This is an assigned-school implementation role. It does not carry independent ownership of programme strategy, curriculum architecture, cross-school leadership or organisation-wide reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Classroom teaching and student participation: Conduct structured English classes and create regular opportunities for students to listen, speak, read, write and participate confidently.
2. Lesson preparation and learner support: Prepare for each class using shared lesson plans and materials, and use appropriate scaffolds to support students with varied English readiness.
3. Student evidence and assessment support: Collect assigned student-learning evidence, maintain accurate records and support fair implementation of baseline, formative, midline and endline assessments.
4. Immediate feedback and classroom improvement: Provide respectful, non-shaming feedback during student practice and use classroom observations to improve learner participation and progress.
5. AI-IVRS and home-practice support for assigned students: Encourage assigned students to participate in AI-IVRS speaking and listening practice, record participation information and report barriers to the reporting manager.
6. School stakeholder relationship-building Build regular and respectful relationships with school teachers, coordinators, principals and relevant stakeholders in the assigned schools.
7. Monthly school programme update meetings: Conduct one monthly meeting with school stakeholders to share programme updates, discuss student participation, identify support required and record agreed actions and challenges.
8. School-based English-practice opportunities: Identify and support practical opportunities within the school where children can practise English even when the Edspectrum team is not present.
9. Training, workshops and professional learning Participation: Attend and actively participate in all assigned trainings, step-backs, workshops, review meetings and internal or external learning opportunities in physical or virtual spaces.
10. Documentation and routine coordination: Maintain attendance, classwork, student-progress records, stakeholder meeting notes and assigned programme documentation accurately and on time.
11. Safeguarding and professional conduct: Ensure student dignity, safety, confidentiality and respectful professional conduct in all classroom, school and parent interactions.

6. Ability to communicate respectfully with school teachers, parents and stakeholders.

7. Basic comfort with WhatsApp, Google Forms, Google Sheets or similar digital documentation tools.

8. Reliability, punctuality and responsibility in completing assigned work.
