Lead Data Platform EngineerLocation : Pune / Chennai (Hybrid)We are looking for an experienced Lead Data Platform Engineer to drive the architecture, modernization, and evolution of enterprise-scale data platforms. This role will own key technical decisions, build scalable cloud-first data solutions, mentor senior engineers, and define best practices across the Data Engineering organization.Key Responsibilities :- Lead data platform architecture and modernization initiatives across multiple domains.- Design and implement highly scalable data platforms supporting multi-TB workloads.- Drive cloud-native architectures, Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, and platform reliability.- Build real-time data solutions using Kafka, stream processing, and event-driven architectures.- Define engineering standards, security frameworks, observability, and performance practices.- Mentor senior engineers and collaborate with engineering leaders on technical strategy.- Lead complex troubleshooting, incident management, and continuous platform improvements.Required Skills & Experience :- 10 - 15+ years of experience in Data Platform Engineering or related roles.- Strong expertise in SQL, Python, and software engineering principles.- Hands-on experience with databases like Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, DynamoDB.- Strong experience with Kafka ecosystem, Kubernetes, Docker, Airflow/Prefect/Dagster.- Expertise in cloud platforms, Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, and distributed systems.- Experience designing platforms handling large-scale data workloads and enterprise users.- Knowledge of legacy data technologies like Oracle, SQL Server, Informatica, SSIS is preferred.- Strong leadership, architecture, and stakeholder management skills.
