System & Windows Administrator

Job Overview : The Windows Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation of Windows-based servers and systems. This role ensures system availability, security, performance, and compliance while supporting business applications and end users in an enterprise IT environment.Key Skills : Windows Server, Active Directory, PowerShell, OS Troubleshooting, domain controller, Azure Migration, DNS, DHCP.Required Skills & Qualifications : 1. Technical Skills : - Strong experience with Windows Server Administration.- Hands-on knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO.- Experience with PowerShell scripting.- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, VLANs).- Experience with backup, monitoring, and patching tools.2. Soft Skills : - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.- Good communication and documentation abilities.- Ability to work independently and in team environments.- Willingness to work in shifts or on-call support (if required).Key Responsibilities : 1. System Administration : - Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) environments.- Manage Active Directory, including users, groups, GPOs, and OU structures.- Administer DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy services.- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity.2. Security & Compliance : - Apply security patches and updates using WSUS or similar tools.- Implement and manage security policies, access controls, and permissions.- Support audits and ensure compliance with organizational security standards.- Manage antivirus, endpoint protection, and vulnerability remediation.3. Virtualization & Infrastructure : - Support virtual environments (Hyper V / VMware).- Manage server builds, decommissioning, and lifecycle management.- Perform backup and recovery operations using enterprise backup tools.- Ensure disaster recovery readiness and documentation.4. Troubleshooting & Support : - Troubleshoot system, application, and network-related issues.- Provide Level 2 / Level 3 support for Windows-related incidents.- Coordinate with network, security, and application teams.- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.5. Automation & Documentation : - Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation.- Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks.- Participate in change management and incident management processes.
