Calypso Developer

About the Role
We are looking for a Calypso Developer with 5–7 years of hands-on Calypso development experience to design, develop, and maintain Calypso-based solutions across our capital markets technology estate. You will combine Calypso platform expertise with strong Java and SQL skills — delivering robust, high-quality configurations and customisations that support trading, back office, accounting, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Calypso platform solutions — configuration, customisation, and Java-based extensions across trade capture, back office, and accounting modules.
• Develop and maintain Calypso interfaces — SWIFT, FIX, MQ, XML, and REST — connecting Calypso with internal and external systems.
• Write and optimise SQL queries — data validation, reconciliation, and reporting across Oracle / PostgreSQL Calypso databases.
• Configure Calypso static data — counterparty, product, account, workflow, and SSI definitions across environments.
• Support Calypso batch processing — scheduling, dependency management, and failure resolution for EOD processing cycles.
• Conduct unit testing and support UAT — validating Calypso configurations and customisations against functional specifications.
• Collaborate with BAs, architects, and operations teams — translating business requirements into well-designed Calypso technical solutions.
• Produce clear technical documentation — configuration guides, integration specifications, and deployment runbooks.

What We're Looking For

1. 5–7 years of hands-on Calypso development experience in capital markets environments.
2. Strong Java skills — applied to Calypso plugin development, custom workflow actions, and platform extensions.
3. Good Calypso platform knowledge — trade capture, back office, accounting, or collateral modules.
4. Solid SQL skills — Oracle / PostgreSQL — complex querying, stored procedures, and data validation.
5. Experience with Calypso interface configuration — SWIFT, MQ, FIX, XML, or REST integrations.
6. Good capital markets domain knowledge — financial instruments, trade lifecycle, and back office operations.
7. Familiarity with Git, Maven, and CI/CD tooling for Calypso build and deployment.
8. Good communication and collaboration skills — working effectively with BAs, architects, and operations teams.
