About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Solar Sales Consultant to join our growing Renewables team. As a Solar Sales Consultant, you will take ownership of customers from the consultation stage through to sale completion. You will work closely with the multiple teams to deliver a professional, seamless customer experience.

Full training will be provided on solar PV systems, battery storage, company processes, and sales methodologies, including our systems and tools.

Key Responsibilities

Manage qualified sales opportunities from consultation through to successful sale completion.

Conduct customer consultations where needed to understand energy usage, objectives, budget, and installation requirements.

Gather and verify information required to support accurate solar PV and battery storage proposals.

Build strong customer relationships and deliver a professional, consultative sales experience.

Liaise closely with the Proposal Team to support the development of accurate quotations and system designs.

Present, explain, and discuss proposals, addressing customer questions and concerns effectively.

Manage quotation amendments and ensure customers are kept informed throughout the process.

Maintain an organised sales pipeline and proactively progress opportunities towards conversion.

Follow up leads and quotations consistently to maximise sales performance.

Handle objections, resolve customer concerns, and negotiate within agreed company guidelines.

Secure customer commitment and close profitable sales opportunities.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records, activities, and communications within Payaca CRM.

Ensure all customer requirements, agreements, and key information are fully documented and shared with relevant teams.

Deliver comprehensive post-sale handovers to the Project Management Team, ensuring a smooth transition from sale to installation.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

Work closely with the CSR Team to review qualified leads, understand customer requirements, and ensure a smooth transition into the sales process.

Assist the Proposal Team by providing accurate customer information, support system design, and manage quotation amendments where required.

Collaborate with the Project Management Team to deliver thorough post-sale handovers and ensure customer expectations are clearly communicated.

Build strong working relationships across departments to ensure a seamless customer journey from enquiry through to installation.

Participate in regular OVO Solar & Heating meetings, training sessions, and sales initiatives to maintain product knowledge and alignment with franchise requirements.

Share feedback, insights, and best practices with internal stakeholders to support continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and sales performance.

Skills & Experience

Essential

Previous experience in a sales or customer-facing role.

Strong communication and telephone-based sales skills.

Experience building rapport and understanding customer needs.

Excellent follow-up and pipeline management abilities.

Confidence in handling objections and closing sales.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Good IT and CRM system skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams.

Desirable

Experience within solar PV, battery storage, energy, construction, or technical sales.

Knowledge of renewable energy solutions and residential solar systems.

Experience using CRM platforms.

Experience with Aircall or similar cloud-based telephony systems.
