Role: Senior Manager SCM

Location: Bangalore. Whitefield

Role Summary:

This role is responsible for end-to-end Supply Chain Management covering Supply Chain Planning, Procurement, Inventory Management, Logistics & Transportation, Supplier Relationship Management, Capacity Planning, Cost Management and Supply Chain Risk Management. The supply chain will cover Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Capital Equipment, Consumables and Contract Manufacturing of PCBA. The incumbent will interface closely with global and local suppliers, EMS partners, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal cross-functional teams to ensure on-time material availability, optimum inventory, cost efficiency, capacity readiness and supply chain resilience.

Cost Management: Continuously drive cost reduction and cost avoidance across procurement, logistics, inventory and supplier operations.

Supplier Risk Management: Identify potential disruptions before they impact supplies; maintain risk assessments, mitigation plans, alternate sources and contingency plans.

Capacity Planning: Assess supplier and EMS capacity against current and future requirements, identify constraints and secure capacity for critical components and business ramp-ups.

Supplier Relationship Management: Manage strategic supplier relationships, supplier performance, corrective actions and supplier development across cost, quality, delivery and responsiveness.

Logistics & Transportation: Manage inbound/outbound logistics and transportation, shipment schedules, freight movement, documentation and logistics cost optimization.

Inventory Management: Maintain optimum inventory levels, monitor excess/obsolete/slow-moving inventory, improve inventory turns and ensure inventory accuracy.

Procurement: Manage procurement and sourcing of Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical components, Capital Equipment and Consumables; drive supplier selection, negotiations and cost optimization.

Supply Chain Planning: Own supply chain planning aligned with production requirements, demand, BOM and business priorities; identify shortages and drive proactive recovery actions.

1. Electronic Component (E-Component) Import Management

* Manage end-to-end import lifecycle for electronic components: ICs, MCUs, power modules, connectors, passive components, sensors, and EV-specific parts (BMS ICs, gate drivers, HV connectors).

* Track global component availability, lead times, and allocation windows; coordinate with Tier-2/Tier-3 suppliers and authorized distributors.

* Manage open purchase orders, delivery schedules, and expedite actions for critical shortages or ECN-driven changes.

* Conduct regular supplier reviews (SCAR, OTD, PPM) and drive corrective actions for delivery or quality issues.

* Maintain AVL (Approved Vendor List) and support dual-source / alternate-source qualification with engineering and quality teams.

* Support PPAP/APQP documentation requirements for imported E-components; align BOM changes with sourcing timelines.

2. Import Logistics & Customs Compliance

* Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal logistics for air, sea, and courier shipments (DHL, FedEx, courier consolidations, FCL/LCL).

* Ensure timely filing and accuracy of import documentation: commercial invoice, packing list, BL/AWB, certificate of origin, test reports, MSDS/SDS.

* Monitor and manage customs clearance; resolve holds, detentions, and classification disputes with customs authorities.

* Maintain import cost trackers; analyze landed cost vs. budget and flag deviations; drive cost optimization via Incoterm negotiation (EXW, FCA, CIF, DAP).

* Coordinate with Finance for advance remittance of import payments.

* Drive shipment visibility through logistics portals and internal trackers; publish weekly import status to stakeholders.

3. Local Subcontract / EMS Management

Scope includes contract manufacturing of PCBA and management of EMS / subcontract manufacturing partners.

* Issue and track purchase orders / work orders to EMS partners; monitor build schedules, yield data, and dispatch timelines.

* Coordinate kit preparation and consignment inventory management for EMS-kitted assemblies; reconcile BOM shortages before build release.

* Manage ECN/PCN implementation at EMS level; ensure BOM revision control is aligned between internal PLM and EMS build records.

* Identify and qualify new EMS/subcon partners to improve capacity, capability, or geographic coverage.

4. Cross-functional & Reporting

* Maintain import and subcon data in ERP (SAP) and supplement with Google Sheets / Excel-based trackers for real-time team visibility.

* Generate weekly and monthly supply chain reports: shortage lists, import pipeline, EMS build status, landed cost trends.

* Participate in S&OP / material review meetings; represent supply chain risks and mitigation plans
