Practice Head - ERP

About the Role : We are looking for an experienced Practice Head - ERP to build, lead, and scale our ERP consulting practice. The ideal candidate will be a platform-agnostic ERP leader with strong experience in ERP consulting, practice development, client engagement, solutioning, delivery governance, and team leadership. We are not looking for a leader restricted to a single ERP ecosystem. The candidate should have a broad understanding of enterprise business processes and be comfortable evaluating and leading solutions across multiple ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo, ERPNext, and other cloud, open-source, or emerging ERP technologies. The role will combine practice strategy, delivery oversight, client management, team building, ERP capability development, and business growth.Key Responsibilities : 1. ERP Practice Leadership & Growth : - Own the overall strategy, growth, and development of the ERP practice.- Define ERP service offerings, technology roadmap, delivery methodology, and practice strategy.- Build and scale a sustainable, multi-platform ERP consulting practice.- Identify new ERP technologies, market opportunities, and potential service offerings.- Drive practice revenue, profitability, utilization, and business growth.- Establish processes, frameworks, accelerators, and best practices for ERP engagements.- Build strategic partnerships and alliances with relevant ERP technology providers where required.2. Platform-Agnostic ERP Consulting : - Provide strategic guidance on ERP solutions based on business requirements rather than commitment to a specific ERP platform.- Understand and evaluate ERP platforms including : SAP, Oracle ERP, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo, ERPNext, and other cloud, SaaS, open-source, and emerging ERP platforms.- Evaluate ERP solutions based on business requirements, scalability, total cost of ownership, integration requirements, implementation complexity, and long-term business objectives.- Lead ERP product evaluation and selection exercises.- Guide clients on ERP implementation, modernization, migration, optimization, and transformation initiatives.3. Delivery & Program Governance : - Provide strategic leadership and governance across ERP implementation and support engagements.- Ensure projects meet agreed timelines, budgets, quality standards, and business objectives.- Oversee ERP implementation, customization, integration, data migration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.- Establish delivery standards, KPIs, governance mechanisms, and quality processes.- Identify delivery and technology risks and ensure appropriate mitigation.- Act as an escalation point for critical client and project issues.4. Team Building & Capability Development : - Build and lead a high-performing multi-platform ERP consulting team.- Define hiring and capability requirements across different ERP technologies.- Recruit, mentor, and develop ERP consultants, architects, project managers, and functional/technical teams.- Build cross-platform capabilities within the practice.- Develop training, certification, and knowledge-sharing programs.- Create a culture of continuous learning and technology adaptability.- Develop succession plans and future ERP practice leaders.5. ERP Integration & Digital Transformation : - Provide strategic direction for ERP integration with CRM, HRMS, SCM, BI, e-commerce, payment systems, and other enterprise applications.- Guide clients on ERP modernization, cloud adoption, automation, and digital transformation.- Understand ERP integration architecture, APIs, middleware, and data migration at a solution and strategic level.- Lead initiatives involving multiple ERP platforms or integration between legacy and modern ERP environments.Required Skills & Experience : - 10+ years of experience in ERP consulting, implementation, transformation, solution architecture, practice management, or related areas.- Proven experience in leading or building an ERP practice/business unit.- Strong understanding of ERP consulting and enterprise business processes.- Strong experience with at least one major ERP platform such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo, ERPNext, or equivalent.- Exposure to multiple ERP platforms is highly preferred.- Strong understanding of enterprise business processes including : Finance & Accounting, Procurement & Purchase, Sales & Distribution, Inventory & Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Human Resources, and Project Management.- Strong understanding of the complete ERP lifecycle including discovery, requirement gathering, solution design, implementation, customization, integration, testing, deployment, migration, and support.- Proven ability to build, manage, and scale consulting teams.- Strong commercial and business acumen.- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.- Ability to engage confidently with CXOs, business leaders, functional consultants, technical teams, and delivery teams.Key Behavioral Attributes : - We are looking for a leader who is platform-agnostic and technology adaptable.- Business-process oriented rather than product-dependent.- Comfortable evaluating and working across different ERP technologies.- Strong in consulting, solutioning, and problem-solving.- Entrepreneurial and capable of building a practice from the ground up.- Commercially driven with a strong focus on practice growth.- Comfortable working across technology, delivery, and business functions.- A strong communicator and client-facing leader.- Curious and willing to continuously learn new ERP technologies.- Capable of leading teams across different ERP ecosystems.Preferred Qualifications : - Experience leading an ERP Practice, Center of Excellence, Consulting Unit, or ERP Business Line.- Experience working across multiple ERP technologies or multi-ERP environments.- Experience with cloud ERP, SaaS ERP, open-source ERP, or ERP modernization.- Experience in ERP product evaluation and selection.- Experience with enterprise integrations and digital transformation.- Experience in building strategic technology partnerships/alliances.- MBA / PGDM / equivalent business qualification is a plus.- Relevant ERP certifications are an added advantage.
