Software Development Engineer II - Backend Architecture

Role Overview :As an SDE-2 Backend Developer, you will be at the heart of our engineering efforts, architecting and scaling high-performance systems that power our core product offerings. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, frontend engineers, and DevOps specialists, to translate complex business requirements into robust, maintainable backend services. Your contributions will directly influence the platform's reliability and speed, ensuring a seamless experience for millions of users while driving the technical roadmap of our microservices ecosystem. This role is pivotal in maintaining our competitive edge by building systems that are not only functional but also highly scalable and resilient.Key Responsibilities :- Design and implement scalable microservices using Python and FastAPI to ensure high availability and low latency for our global user base.- Develop and maintain type-safe, efficient APIs using TypeScript to streamline communication between frontend and backend components.- Architect and optimize complex database schemas and SQL queries to ensure data integrity and high performance under heavy load.- Deploy and manage cloud-native applications on AWS, leveraging containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes to ensure seamless scalability.- Implement robust caching strategies using Redis to minimize response times and reduce database overhead.- Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines to accelerate deployment cycles and improve overall code quality across the engineering organization.Required Skillset :- Demonstrated expertise in designing backend architectures that are modular, scalable, and capable of handling high-concurrency traffic.- Strong proficiency in Python and FastAPI, with a deep understanding of asynchronous programming and RESTful webservices.- Proven ability to write clean, maintainable TypeScript code and integrate it effectively within a modern web stack.- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, including the ability to configure and manage services for production-grade applications.- Solid grasp of data structures and algorithms, allowing you to solve complex technical challenges with optimal efficiency.- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively within a hybrid work environment.- A proactive mindset toward problem-solving and a commitment to continuous learning, ideally supported by a strong academic background in Computer Science or a related field.Location : Bangalore, Hyderabad, Gurgaon/Gurugram (ref:hirist.tech)
