Freelance ETL Tester / Data QA Engineer

Role Overview We are looking for a Freelance ETL Tester / Data QA Engineer with strong experience in data validation, ETL testing, and analytics QA . The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating data pipelines, business logic, and QC reports in a cloud-based environment involving Azure Data Factory and Databricks . This role is focused on data testing (NOT manual UI testing) and requires strong skills in SQL, data comparison, and analytics validation . Key Responsibilities Data Testing & Validation Validate data processed through ETL pipelines and analytics systems Perform QC (Quality Check) validation on reports and datasets Ensure correctness of data, calculations, and business logic Identify missing, incorrect, or inconsistent data ETL & Pipeline Testing Test data workflows built using Azure Data Factory (ADF) Validate outputs stored in Databricks Trigger data processing via UI tools (e.g., EOS UI) Data Comparison & Analysis Compare expected vs actual results Validate: Joins Aggregations Filters Perform Base vs Post validation after code changes Environment Testing Work across multiple environments: QA UAT (PPD1) Pre-Prod Production Understand code movement across environments (not data movement) Defect Management Log defects with clear details: Expected vs Actual Steps to reproduce Perform root cause analysis for data issues Collaboration & Agile Work with developers and analysts to clarify requirements
