Senior Data Science Engineer

Amgen seeks a Senior Data Science Engineer to lead development of data pipelines, machine learning solutions, and analytics applications supporting clinical research and business decisions. The role combines technical expertise with cross-functional collaboration to deliver scalable solutions across the organization's global data science capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Partner with data scientists to select appropriate models and algorithms for clinical trial improvements
- Design, develop, and test machine learning and analytics pipelines and visualization solutions
- Gather business requirements and user stories for new or enhanced analytic applications
- Train end-users on deployed data science solutions and support adoption
- Contribute to process improvements and participate in developing organizational policies and standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Life Sciences
- 8-13 years experience as Machine Learning Engineer, Data Engineer, Software Engineer, or Data Scientist
- Proven track record developing production-quality advanced analytic solutions
- Strong understanding of data structures, data modeling, and software architecture
- Proficiency in R or Python for writing robust code
- Knowledge of machine learning algorithms (neural networks, random forests, ensemble methods, NLP)
- Linux operating system proficiency and familiarity with shell commands
