Technical Product Owner - Data Platform

Role Summary : We are seeking a Product Manager / Technical Product Owner with a strong Data Engineering background who can bridge business objectives and technical execution. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience as a Data Engineer before transitioning into Product Management, Product Ownership, or Business Analysis. This role will own the product backlog, define product requirements, and collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver scalable data products and platform capabilities.Key Responsibilities : - Act as the Product Owner for one or more cross-functional Scrum teams delivering data platform enhancements and integrations.- Represent the voice of the customer by understanding business needs and translating them into well-defined product requirements.- Define and prioritize user stories, features, and acceptance criteria for data platform initiatives.- Own and manage the product backlog based on business value, ROI, product strategy, and engineering capacity.- Work closely with Data Engineers, Architects, Developers, QA, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.- Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Reviews, and Retrospectives.- Coordinate with Product Managers, Business Architects, and Engineering teams to ensure a cohesive product experience.- Analyze business processes and identify opportunities to improve data products and platform capabilities.- Support strategic planning, business capability modeling, and value stream analysis.- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering, analytics, and cloud platforms.- Mentor Product Analysts and facilitate collaboration across business and technical teams.Required Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.- 1014 years of overall IT experience.- Hands-on experience as a Data Engineer before moving into a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Business Analyst role.- Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, data pipelines, databases, and cloud data platforms.- Experience working in Agile/Scrum and SAFe environments.Must-Have Skills : - Product Ownership, Agile (Scrum), SAFe, Business Analysis, User Story Creation, Product Backlog Management, Stakeholder Management, Requirement Gathering, Sprint Planning & Backlog Grooming.Technical Experience : Candidates should have prior experience in Data Engineering with exposure to technologies such as SQL, Python, Apache Spark / PySpark, ETL/ELT Pipelines, Airflow, Data Warehousing, BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or Synapse, Cloud Platforms (GCP, Azure, or AWS), and Data Integration and APIs.
