Location: Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh
Key Requirements
• Proven experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical drive systems in Caster, Tunnel Furnace, Rolling Mill, and other continuous process plants.
• Strong knowledge of industrial drive technology, electrical power distribution, motor control centers (MCCs), control systems, and automation interfaces.
• Hands-on expertise in ABB drives including ACS580, ACS800, ACS850, drive commissioning, parameterization, diagnostics, backup restoration, and firmware management.
• Working knowledge of Siemens drive systems including SINAMICS S120, G120, and associated engineering tools such as Starter and Startdrive/TIA Portal.
• Expertise in drive fault analysis, breakdown troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Ability to diagnose and rectify issues related to:
o Drive power modules and control units
o Encoder and feedback systems
o Communication networks (Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP)
o Motor and drive interlocks
o Harmonics, power quality, and electrical protection systems
• Experience in predictive, preventive, and condition-based maintenance of VFDs and DC/AC drive systems to improve equipment reliability and availability.
• Strong understanding of drive system integration with PLC, HMI, SCADA, and field instrumentation.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Plan, organize, and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities for ABB and Siemens drive systems.
• Develop maintenance strategies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and troubleshooting guidelines for drive systems.
• Perform detailed fault diagnostics and analysis to minimize downtime and improve system reliability.
• Create and implement preventive maintenance plans for VFDs, drive panels, motors, cooling systems, and associated equipment.
• Monitor critical drive parameters, analyze trends, and recommend reliability improvement initiatives.
• Carry out drive commissioning, parameter backup/restoration, software upgrades, and performance optimization activities.
• Schedule maintenance shutdown activities, arrange required manpower, tools, and spare parts for timely execution.
• Review ongoing maintenance work and ensure compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain comprehensive records of drive faults, corrective actions, maintenance history, and reliability KPIs.
• Develop and manage critical spare parts inventory for ABB and Siemens drives to reduce Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
• Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, and internal operations teams for complex troubleshooting and system upgrades.
• Support modernization, retrofit, and drive migration projects.
• Ensure strict compliance with electrical safety standards, LOTO procedures, arc-flash protection requirements, and plant safety regulations.
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance analyses, presentations, and MIS reports using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Skills
• Advanced troubleshooting of ABB ACS800/ACS850 and Siemens SINAMICS S120 multi-axis systems.
• Knowledge of drive networks, fieldbus diagnostics, and industrial communication protocols.
• Experience with thermography, power quality analysis, and condition monitoring techniques.
• Good leadership, communication, team coordination, and shift maintenance management skills.
• Exposure to steel manufacturing processes and critical rolling mill drive applications will be highly preferred.
Qualification Requirements
• You should have minimum 5 years’ experience preferably in Caster, Tunnel Furnace, Rolling mill with bachelor’s degree in electrical/ Electronic engineering or Diploma in electrical with 6-8 years of experience
