About the Role

We are seeking experienced health economists to author and evaluate economic assessments used to assess and improve AI model performance.

You’ll apply your expertise in health economics and outcomes research to develop realistic economic evaluations, document defensible methodological reasoning, and assess whether AI-generated analyses are analytically sound. The work focuses on ensuring that outputs are not only plausible, but also methodologically appropriate for real-world payer, regulatory, and health technology assessment contexts.

What You’ll Do

• Author realistic economic evaluations from the research question through the final recommendation.

• Develop reference answers that clearly explain the methodological reasoning behind each analytical choice.

• Grade AI-generated economic analyses for analytical soundness and defensibility of assumptions.

• Identify analyses that appear plausible but could produce misleading conclusions for payers or regulators.

• Apply appropriate health economic and outcomes research methodologies to evaluation tasks.

• Document methodological reasoning clearly enough for another health economist to independently follow and assess.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate degree (MS, MPH, or PhD) in health economics, economics, public health, epidemiology, or a related quantitative field.

• 3+ years of professional or research experience in health economics or outcomes research.

• Hands-on experience building health economic models.

• Depth of expertise in one or more areas such as:

  • Cost-effectiveness modeling.

  • Budget impact analysis.

  • Real-world evidence.

  • Health technology assessment (HTA).

• Strong written English and the ability to clearly document methodological reasoning.

• Ability to commit at least 10 hours per week .

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in one or more of the following is preferred:

• Preparing health economic submissions for NICE, ICER, CADTH, PBAC, IQWiG, or AMCP .

• Hands-on modeling using R, TreeAge, Excel/VBA, Stata, or SAS .

• Working with claims or EHR databases such as MarketScan, Optum, IQVIA, Medicare, SEER-Medicare, or Flatiron .

• ISPOR membership, conference presentations, or peer-reviewed publications applying economic evaluation methods.
