Experience6–8 years of software development experienceEducation: B.E./B.Tech, M.E./M.Tech, MCA, or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fieldJob Summary We are looking for an experienced Senior VS Code Developer to design, develop, and maintain advanced Visual Studio Code extensions and developer productivity tools. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in TypeScript, the VS Code Extension API, modern DevOps practices, CI/CD automation, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native development. Experience with .NET technologies is highly desirable. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain high-quality Visual Studio Code extensions and plugins.Build custom developer productivity tools and workflows within VS Code.Develop extension features using TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js.Integrate VS Code extensions with REST APIs, backend services, AI services, and developer tools.Optimize extension performance, scalability, and user experience.Build automated CI/CD pipelines for extension development and deployment.Containerize applications using Docker and manage deployments using Kubernetes.Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate build, release, and deployment processes.Troubleshoot complex issues related to extensions, debugging, and developer environments.Implement unit testing, integration testing, and code quality best practices.Work closely with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to deliver enterprise-grade developer tools.Document architecture, APIs, and development guidelines.Required Technical SkillsCore Skills6–8 years of software development experienceStrong expertise in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+)Strong experience with Node.jsHands-on experience developing Visual Studio Code ExtensionsStrong understanding of VS Code Extension APIExperience with Language Server Protocol (LSP)Experience with Debug Adapter Protocol (DAP)Strong knowledge of Git and version control workflowsDevOps & CloudCI/CD pipeline development using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab CIDocker containerizationKubernetes deployment and managementInfrastructure automationLinux environment and shell scriptingSoftware EngineeringREST API integrationAuthentication (OAuth, JWT)Microservices architectureUnit testing (Jest, Mocha)Performance optimizationDesign patterns and clean architecturePreferred (.NET)Experience with C# and .NET 6/7/8ASP.NET Core Web API developmentBuilding developer tools for .NET applicationsIntegration with the .NET CLI, MSBuild, or RoslynExperience with NuGet package managementGood to HaveAzure or AWS cloud experienceAI-assisted development toolsExperience integrating with GitHub Copilot, OpenAI, or other LLM APIsElectron application developmentYAML configurationTerraform or Infrastructure as CodeSecurity best practices for extensionsExperience publishing extensions to the VS Code Marketplace Required CompetenciesExperience with AI-powered coding assistantsOpen-source contributions are a plusExperience building enterprise developer platformsExperience with IDE plugins or extensions (VS Code, Visual Studio, IntelliJ, Eclipse)Strong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent debugging and troubleshooting abilitiesAbility to design scalable software architectureStrong communication and collaboration skillsExperience working in Agile/Scrum environmentsAbility to mentor junior developers Preferred
