What you’ll do:

The Global Solution Delivery Selling & Store Operations Team is responsible for managing Front and Back of Stores solutions within TJX IT. The organization delivers capabilities to the stores that enrich the Customer and Associate experience and provide business value. We seek a motivated, talented, experienced Solution Engineer/Architect to help guide the lifecycle of these capabilities through planning, design and delivery within Workforce Management modernization strategy

In this role you will be responsible for leading the technology associated with the Workforce Management solutions for a cross functional set of North American and European users. Using your Engineering mindset, you will help deliver solutions to our rapidly growing global partners design, develop features and services enabling key business priorities for optimal business value. You will be responsible for software configurations and Integrations, system design and implementation, application support and maintenance, testing and collaboration, helping the technical direction, partnering with architecture, and security consultants. Participating in the recommendations alongside the Agile product team. Engineers at this level can deliver end-to-end on assignments in their area. You will work in a fast-paced environment which will challenge you to think creatively and exhibit an agile mindset.  All the solution delivery work will be done within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

Responsibilities

• Develop new features and services that are low level of complexity working with the product/platform/infrastructure/security team
• Code, test, deploy & support working software/technology component, working collaboratively with engineering leads and other engineers.
• Responsible for code analysis, debugging, review and execution of unit/integration tests. Create test automation scripts.
• Responsible for delivering clean, secure, performant code / technology components that meets all the non-functional requirements.
• Sets up application jobs, creates test data, and supports deployment, all at a low level of complexity.
• Fully Owns Stories. Co-owns features with strong guidance. Takes initiative through asking questions & learning.

Skill/Knowledge

• 2+ years of hands-on engineering experience in design, development of Productivity applications
• Foundational knowledge of object-oriented principles, data structures, design patterns and algorithms
• Foundational knowledge of SQL databases
• Preferred exposure to any of the following:
  • Productivity tools like Workjam, Reflexis etc.,
  • Oracle databases, SQL Server, Postgress, etc.,
  • Retail labor management systems
• Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot
• Knowledge of use Jira and Confluence and source code management tools such as Git
• Foundational knowledge of DevSecOps best practices.
• Ability to adapt easily to changing requirements and priorities
• Assumes responsibility for providing a high level of customer service and takes personal accountability for outcomes
• Strong critical thinking & organizational skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Basic familiarity with the software development lifecycle, within an AGILE environment
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Engineering skillset / training / work experience in relevant technical domain
