Role Overview: The VFX Editor at Jellyfish Pictures is responsible for managing the editing of visual effects shots for various projects. This role requires a strong understanding of the VFX pipeline and the ability to work closely with VFX supervisors, artists, and other editors to ensure the seamless integration of visual effects into the final product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Editing and Sequencing:
- Assemble, edit, and sequence VFX shots in line with the project's creative vision.
- Integrate VFX shots with live-action footage, ensuring continuity and flow.
- Maintain an organized project structure, managing various versions and iterations.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with VFX supervisors, producers, and artists to understand the requirements of each shot.
- Provide feedback and direction to artists to achieve the desired visual outcome.
- Liaise with other departments, such as sound and color grading, to ensure cohesive final deliverables.
- Quality Control:
- Review and ensure the quality of all VFX shots, making necessary adjustments to meet high standards.
- Implement and maintain consistency in visual and technical aspects across all shots.
- Conduct regular reviews and provide constructive feedback to the team.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Use editing software such as Avid, Adobe Premiere, or Final Cut Pro to manage and edit VFX content.
- Basic knowledge of DaVinci Resolve.
- Ensure all edited materials meet technical specifications for delivery.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during the editing process.
- Project Management:
- Manage timelines and deadlines, ensuring all edits are completed on schedule.
- Maintain clear communication with the production team about progress and any potential delays.
- Organize and archive project files systematically for easy access and retrieval.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Editor in the VFX industry.
- Strong proficiency in editing software (Avid, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, etc.).
- Solid understanding of the VFX pipeline and processes.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working on high-profile VFX projects.
- Knowledge of the latest editing software and technologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
