Key responsibilities:

The incumbent shall be responsible for the following areas under Trade Marketing and Activation, to drive the overall Business Objective:

Trade Marketing Strategy & Execution

• Plan, develop, and execute trade marketing initiatives to drive sales growth, market penetration, and brand visibility across channels.
• Ensure effective deployment and monitoring of primary and secondary trade schemes, maximizing reach, compliance, and return on investment.
• Design and implement trade engagement programs that strengthen partner relationships and increase focus on the company's product portfolio.

In-Store Excellence & Visibility

• Drive superior in-store execution through effective merchandising, visibility programs, and point-of-sale activation initiatives.
• Ensure consistent implementation of brand guidelines and promotional activities across all trade touchpoints.
• Monitor execution quality and take corrective actions to improve retail effectiveness and shopper experience.

Program Store Management

• Lead the expansion of program stores in line with business growth objectives.
• Ensure efficient execution and operational excellence across program stores.
• Monitor and improve store productivity, weighted availability, and WOA (Width of Assortment/Availability) metrics to enhance business performance.

Distributor & Channel Partner Management

• Conceptualize and execute distributor engagement programs to strengthen partnerships and align channel objectives with company goals.
• Foster strong relationships with distributors and key trade partners to improve execution, availability, and market coverage.
• Track distributor performance and drive initiatives to improve sales effectiveness and channel productivity.

Market & Competition Management

• Continuously monitor and analyze competitor activities, pricing strategies, promotions, and market developments.
• Develop and implement market-specific competitive action plans to strengthen market position and drive share growth.
• Generate actionable insights from market intelligence and recommend strategic interventions.

New Product Launches

• Develop and execute trade marketing plans for new product launches, ensuring effective trade readiness, availability, and visibility.
• Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Channel Partners to ensure successful launch execution and achievement of launch objectives.

Trade Activations & Events

• Collaborate with activation agencies to plan and execute trade events, retailer meets, and promotional activities with high impact and effectiveness.
• Ensure all trade activations are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with agreed objectives and quality standards.

Budget & Cost Management

• Drive cost efficiencies through effective negotiation and management of activation agencies and vendor partners.
• Optimize trade marketing investments by minimizing wastage and ensuring maximum utilization of allocated budgets.
• Track and evaluate the effectiveness of trade marketing programs and recommend improvements for better ROI.

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification

Master’s in Marketing, Communication, or an MBA

Experience

7 – 10 years of Overall Experience with minimum 3 – 4 years @ ASM / RSM level in Consumer Goods / OTC industry. Trade Marketing experience @ Zonal / HO level will be preferred.
