Principal AI Engineer

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks a Principal AI Engineer to design and deploy enterprise-grade generative AI solutions in Hyderabad. The role involves building autonomous multi-agent workflows, developing production FastAPI applications, and integrating cloud-based LLM platforms while ensuring security and compliance in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy autonomous multi-agent workflows with orchestration frameworks supporting complex state machines and error recovery
- Architect graph-based agent systems with 10+ nodes enabling agent collaboration and task decomposition across business domains
- Build production FastAPI applications integrating PostgreSQL, Redis, and enterprise services with async I/O patterns
- Implement real-time agent streaming via Server-Sent Events and WebSocket protocols with RESTful and event-driven architectures
- Integrate cloud LLM providers and develop prompt management systems with versioning, templating, and dynamic compilation
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Engineering, or related field
- 9+ years software engineering experience with 2+ years production LLM applications
- Expert async Python programming with asyncio and async/await patterns
- Hands-on experience with agentic orchestration frameworks like LangGraph or CrewAI
- Proven production deployment of cloud LLM providers including AWS Bedrock or Azure OpenAI
- Strong knowledge of FastAPI, Docker containerization, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
- Deep understanding of agentic design patterns including ReAct and Plan-and-Execute
