Illumina seeks an AI Engineer to develop and deploy AI-powered applications, workflows, and services within their Digital Services division. The role involves building solutions with Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, and modern engineering practices in a hybrid environment based in Bengaluru.
Responsibilities
- Build, test, deploy, and support AI-powered applications, workflows, and services
- Develop and improve prompt workflows, retrieval pipelines, RAG solutions, and AI application components
- Integrate AI models, APIs, data sources, and enterprise systems to address business challenges
- Monitor AI applications, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reliable production operations
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to deliver practical AI solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, engineering, or related field
- Foundational Python programming skills and software development fundamentals
- Understanding of APIs, databases, cloud concepts, and modern application development
- Exposure to Large Language Models through coursework, projects, internships, or independent learning
- Familiarity with prompt engineering, embeddings, retrieval systems, or AI agents
- Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
