Senior Backend Developer - Python

About the Role:Our client needs a backend engineer who can own outcomes, not just ship tickets. You will work on the core infrastructure powering onboarding and investment flows for a product serving a globally distributed, financially complex user base. This means building compliance-aware, API-driven systems where reliability and thoughtful architecture both matter.Based in Bangalore, you will work full-time within a small, high-ownership engineering team.The stack is Python and Django.What the Role Entails:- Design and build backend systems supporting onboarding and investment flows at scale- Own API development and ensure reliable integrations with third-party financial services- Treat compliance and regulatory requirements as first-class concerns in system design- Contribute to infrastructure decisions affecting performance, reliability, and security- Collaborate with product and frontend to ship end-to-end featuresThe Role Holder:- You have 4 to 9 years of backend engineering experience, primarily in Python and Django- You have worked in a start-up and know how to move fast without cutting corners- You understand API-driven architecture and have built integration-heavy systems- You are comfortable in compliance-heavy or regulated product contexts, with fintech experience as a strong plus- You take ownership of outcomes and work well with limited hand-holding (ref:hirist.tech)
