Job PurposeThe Primary English Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, age-appropriate English language instruction that develops students' reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in alignment with the CBSE curriculum and the school's educational philosophy. The teacher fosters a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment while promoting critical thinking, creativity, and a love for language.Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver well-structured English lessons in accordance with the CBSE curriculum and school guidelines.Develop students' proficiency in reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, speaking, and listening.Employ a variety of teaching strategies, digital tools, and interactive activities to enhance learning.Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assessments, and learning resources.Integrate storytelling, phonics, literature, and creative writing into classroom instruction.Encourage independent reading and language enrichment activities.Assessment & EvaluationConduct formative and summative assessments as per the school's assessment policy.Maintain accurate records of student progress and academic performance.Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.Prepare report cards and maintain assessment documentation.Classroom ManagementEstablish a safe, respectful, and disciplined classroom environment.Promote positive behaviour and uphold school values and policies.Ensure effective classroom organisation and optimal use of teaching-learning resources.Student DevelopmentIdentify students requiring academic support and provide appropriate interventions.Encourage confidence in communication through presentations, discussions, debates, and public speaking activities.Foster creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.Parent CommunicationMaintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and concerns.Participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and other school interactions.Address parent queries professionally and promptly.School ResponsibilitiesParticipate actively in school assemblies, events, celebrations, and competitions.Assist in planning and executing language-related activities and literary events.Support examination duties and other academic responsibilities assigned by the school.Participate in professional development programmes, workshops, and training sessions.Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by the School Leadership Team.
