About the Game: The Misadventures of Spaceman Biff is a debut indie game from Prescription Studios — a solo-developed 2D rage platformer where you play as Biff, a space-trucker who has crash-landed on an alien planet and must claw his way up to a rescue station in orbit. The game spans nine regions packed with secrets, and the game's gorgeous pixel art brings every corner of Biff's world to life. Responsibilities We're looking for a pixel artist to create the environmental backgrounds, tilesets, and assets for 4 of the game's 9 regions, as well as provide revision support on the first 5. This is primarily a background art role - but if you can animate large creature sprite sheets, that's a massive bonus as it's a hard requirement for two sections of the game. What you'll work on Environmental / background art for a variety of in-game locations (primary focus) Tileset design and layout-ready assets Revision support on existing region assets Creature & character sprite design (BIG +) Sprite animation - idle, walk, attack cycles (BIG +) UI / icon pixel art as needed What we're looking for Strong portfolio demonstrating pixel art backgrounds - environments, landscapes, interiors Solid understanding of color palettes, shading, and lighting in pixel art Comfortable working within a defined style guide Familiarity with tools like Aseprite, Photoshop, or similar Self-directed and communicative - this is a remote, async collaboration role Bonus Points if: Can implement assets directly in Unity Have creature / character sprite design experience Have pixel animation experience (Aseprite preferred)
