We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Commis 2 - Continental to join our culinary team in Kochi, India. In this role, you will work under the guidance of senior chefs to prepare and cook continental cuisine while maintaining the highest standards of food quality and kitchen safety. • Prepare mise en place and organize workstations according to established kitchen procedures and standards
• Execute food preparation and cooking tasks following approved recipes and plating specifications with precision and consistency
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring proper cleaning and storage protocols
• Assist senior chefs in food preparation, cooking, and plating of continental dishes during service
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times
• Monitor food quality and presentation, making adjustments as needed to meet organizational standards
• Support inventory management by tracking ingredient usage and reporting stock levels to supervisors
• Collaborate effectively with kitchen team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely service delivery
• Respond promptly to feedback from senior chefs and continuously improve cooking techniques and efficiency
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment throughout shifts

Qualifications

• Proven experience of 1-2 years working in a professional kitchen environment
• Strong knowledge of continental cuisine preparation techniques and cooking methods
• Proficiency in operating standard kitchen equipment and tools safely
• Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene practices, and sanitation protocols
• Excellent time management and organizational skills with ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail with commitment to maintaining quality and consistency
• Effective communication and teamwork skills with ability to take direction from senior staff
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
• Preferred: Culinary certification or formal training in food preparation
