Why this role is different:You will own the automation and AI layer of a production insurance platform end to end, working directly with the person making the product decisions. No ticket queue, no twenty person team, no waiting three weeks for approval to ship.We are a US based insurance technology company. Our platform handles commercial insurance workflows including submissions, quoting, binding, renewals, and policy servicing. There is a large amount of manual work in this industry that should not be manual, and your job is to remove it.The AI work here is real and shipped, not a pilot that dies in a slide deck. If you have been wanting to build LLM powered systems that live in production and touch actual revenue, this is that role.What you will do:- Design and build automation systems using Python, APIs, LLMs, and cloud infrastructure- Automate workflows across email, PDFs, web portals, and internal operations- Build multi step pipelines and orchestrated systems with logging, monitoring, and error handling, not one off scripts- Integrate LLMs into real workflows with attention to accuracy, cost, and failure handling- Build integrations against insurance carrier portals and third party systems, including ones with no usable API- Work directly with operations teams to redesign processes before automating them- Make the tooling and architecture calls, balancing performance, cost, and scalabilityWhat we need you to have :- Strong Python and backend system design, with 5 or more years writing production code- Real experience with API integrations and connecting systems that were never designed to talk to each other- Workflow orchestration and pipeline design, including how things fail and how you recover- Practical LLM or AI integration work that shipped to production- AWS or Google Cloud- The ability to work independently across a time zone gap and communicate clearly in writingBonus if you have :None of these are required. Any of them will move you to the front of the queue.- Web automation with Playwright or Selenium- PDF parsing, OCR, or email parsing at scale- Insurance, insurtech, or fintech background- Experience automating against portals with no API- Node.js or TypeScript (ref:hirist.tech)
