We are looking for a Senior Internal Bookkeeper to maintain our financial records, including bank transactions, VAT & payroll, and to take ownership of management account preparation and year-end processes.

On a typical day as a Senior Internal Bookkeeper, you will be:

• Doing general bookkeeping for our internal finance team
• Handling periodic high transaction volume periods
• Recording financial transactions
• Maintaining accounts and managing the journal process
• Reconciling bank statements
• Preparing management accounts
• Leading year-end preparation
• Using sound judgement to resolve non-obvious transactions and situations
• Updating GSheets

Desired profile

• At least 3 years of bookkeeping experience in a high transaction volume environment
• Worked at either at an accountancy/bookkeeping firm or in an internal finance function at a company
• Strong experience with journal management
• Experience preparing management accounts
• Experience and understanding of deferrals and accruals
• Experience with year-end preparation
• Good understanding of UK and IE or EU VAT
• Excellent judgement to resolve non-obvious transactions and situations
• Experience with Xero, QuickBooks, or any other bookkeeping software
• Experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
• Ability to prioritize a busy workload and meet challenging deadlines
• Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills
• Good IT skills, particularly in the use of online accounting software
• Organized, with a thorough, methodical approach to their work
• Excellent English communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
