Principle Engineer- Driving end-to-end hosting services through code, automation, and leadership.- Opportunity to be one of our first team members in Woolworths Group India in Bangalore.Woolworths Group India is partnering exclusively with Zinnov Group to recruit for this position.About this role : As an established member of a Hosting team, the Principle Engineer independently delivers, operates, and improves the team's services, with a focused emphasis on designing, building, managing, delivering and influencing those services through code and automation. The role takes ownership of well-defined pieces of work end-to-end and contributes to the reliability, security, and continuous improvement of the team's service domain.What you'll do : - Authoritative, deep technical mastery across the tower's platform domains Azure, GCP/Kubernetes, Windows Active Directory, Linux directory services, and VMware with strong working breadth across the others.- Ability to set platform architecture, engineering standards, and reference designs spanning public cloud (Azure, GCP), container platforms (GKE/Kubernetes), enterprise directory services (Active Directory and Linux/FreeIPA), and virtualisation (VMware).- Expert command of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Bicep), configuration-as-code, and the code supply chain that delivers and publishes platform products across these domains.- Ability to design cross-domain identity, networking, and security architecture, including hybrid identity (Entra ID, AD/Linux cross-realm trusts) and hybrid/multi-cloud connectivity.- Strong command of policy-as-code and platform guardrails (e.g. Azure Policy, GCP Org Policy, OPA/Gatekeeper) applied consistently across the tower.- Ability to define product-as-code and automated verification standards so each platform team's products carry their own correctness checks.- Authority to evaluate and guide adoption of emerging platform, cloud, container, and virtualisation technologies across the tower.- Recognised expertise evidenced by advanced certifications (e.g. Azure/GCP architect-level, CKA/CKS) and/or equivalent deep enterprise experience.What you'll bring : - Approximately 10+ years of commercial experience in a dedicated engineering role within complex, enterprise-scale environments.- Code-Driven Practices : Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience utilising code-driven methodologies (such as Infrastructure as Code, Configuration as Code, or automated scripting languages) to manage and scale platforms.- Legacy to Modern Transitions : Direct experience migrating legacy systems or manual operational workflows over to modern, highly automated, and resilient target-state architectures.- Incident Ownership & SRE Practice : Demonstrated experience leading root-cause analysis (RCA) investigations and implementing permanent engineering fixes to eliminate systemic operational toil.- Secure Engineering Practice : Proven experience hardening enterprise environments against cyber threats and a track record of successfully driving rapid patch management or vulnerability remediation campaigns in production environments.- Squad-Based Delivery : Proven experience working within an Agile framework, Product-operating model, or DevOps squad environment, collaborating daily with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to deliver platform features.- Purpose-Driven Innovation : Above all, we are seeking collaborative innovators and progressive technical thinkers who don't just maintain the status quo, but actively help us engineer better ways to bring a little good to everyone, every day.What you'll experience : - Be a part of Australias largest retailer- Constant mentoring and training provided- Generous performance based bonus- 20 days annual leave- A flexible approach to work- Premium insurance coverage for you and your dependants.Everyone belongs at Woolworths Group : Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging are key to realising our purpose of better together for a better tomorrow.
