About the Position

The Regional Advancement Director (RAD) will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of new and existing major donor relationships. The RAD will engage donors with Mesa Global’s mission and vision in a manner that fosters trust and inspires generosity. A successful RAD will listen well to the organization’s current and prospective donor community and build connections between donor interests and Mesa Global ministry priorities. As a member of the Advancement team, this position will also work with global ministry leaders to help tell the story of Mesa Global.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Donor Relationship Management

• Proactively cultivate, manage, and grow a portfolio of major, mid-level, and foundational donors and prospects to support Mesa Global’s strategic fundraising goals.
• Regularly engage with prospective, current, and lapsed donors through personalized in-person and virtual meetings to build trust, foster long-term relationships, and align philanthropic interests with organizational priorities.
• Conduct thorough donor research and develop tailored engagement strategies to guide interactions, enhance donor satisfaction, and identify opportunities for increased support.
• Serve as a visible and proactive representative of Mesa Global at regional events, conferences, and community gatherings to expand the donor network and promote the ministry’s mission.
• Maintain a high level of responsiveness and professionalism in donor communications, ensuring a positive and consistent experience at every stage of the relationship lifecycle.
• Identify and leverage key moments for engagement to strengthen personal connections and donor loyalty.

Strategic Donor Stewardship

• Partner with the Advancement team to develop and deliver customized major gift proposals and tailored impact reports that reflect donor interests and ministry outcomes for individuals and church partners.
• Collaborate closely with the Foundations/Grants team to craft compelling proposals and stewardship reports for foundations, ensuring alignment with giving priorities and grant requirements.
• Strategically plan, organize, and execute high-impact donor engagement initiatives—including luncheons, vision trips, and exclusive events—to strengthen relationships and deepen donor engagement.
• Ensure consistent, personalized follow-up communication to recognize contributions, express gratitude, and demonstrate the tangible impact of donor support.
• Maintain a donor-centric approach, continually identifying opportunities to enhance the donor experience and reinforce long-term commitment to Mesa Global’s mission.

Gift Solicitation

• Contribute to the achievement of major gift fundraising targets in alignment with Mesa Global’s advancement strategy.
• Strategically solicit major gifts by aligning donor passions with key funding priorities, crafting compelling cases for support, and facilitating clear calls to action.
• Maintain detailed records of donor interactions, engagement plans, and next steps in Raiser’s Edge (RE), ensuring accurate and timely data entry and performance tracking.
• Monitor and analyze donor metrics to evaluate engagement effectiveness and inform future solicitation strategies.
• Continuously qualify, reassign, and refine donor portfolios by assessing donor capacity, interest, and alignment with organizational goals—ensuring the portfolio remains dynamic and optimized for impact.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support timely follow-up, gift processing, and acknowledgment in accordance with best practices and stewardship standards.

Personal Qualifications

• Committed follower of Jesus Christ with a growing personal faith, actively engaged in a local church and passionate about global missions.
• Fully affirms and upholds Mesa Global’s Statement of Faith and organizational policies.
• Collaborative team member with a demonstrated ability to thrive in cross-functional, partnership-oriented environments.
• Bachelor’s degree required; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Minimum of five years of experience in fundraising, including direct management of a portfolio of major gift donors.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to actively listen and respond thoughtfully to donor and prospect interests.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities, with keen attention to detail and a consistent focus on meeting deadlines.
• Deep alignment with and understanding of Mesa Global’s mission, vision, values, and strategic goals.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience fundraising for a global Christian ministry.
• Proficiency in donor management software (Raiser’s Edge).
• International Travel Experience a plus.

Physical Requirements 

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, on virtual calls, and working at a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Location

• Remote

Travel Requirements:

• Domestic and International Travel. Estimated: 20%
• 10-12 domestic trips, 2 international/year estimated.
