About Altoura

Altoura builds enterprise software for creating, managing, and delivering interactive training across web, mobile, and immersive devices. Altoura vNext brings VR training, procedure training, and e-learning into a modern web-based platform with shared content, reusable scenes and assets, and AI-assisted authoring.

Our product ecosystem includes a browser-based Authoring Platform and Trainee Client, a Unity-based trainee application for head-mounted devices such as Meta Quest, Microsoft HoloLens, and HTC Vive, and mobile applications for iOS and Android. Designers work across complex enterprise workflows, 3D interactions, spatial interfaces, and conventional 2D user experiences.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer who combines strong product thinking with polished visual execution. You will lead the design of complex workflows across Altoura vNext and our cross-platform trainee experiences, working closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers from early discovery through implementation.

This role is well suited to a designer who enjoys turning technically complex capabilitiessuch as visual authoring, branching training logic, 3D scene interaction, asset management, timelines, AI-assisted workflows, and enterprise administrationinto clear and approachable experiences.

What Youll Do

• Own end-to-end design for major product areas, from problem definition and user flows to high-fidelity UI, prototypes, specifications, and implementation review.
• Design sophisticated authoring workflows for creating VR training, procedures, e-learning, branching logic, assessments, media, and interactions with 3D objects.
• Create coherent trainee experiences across desktop and tablet browsers, iOS and Android applications, and Unity-based applications running on Meta Quest, Microsoft HoloLens, and HTC Vive.
• Translate differences in device capabilities and input methodsmouse, touch, controllers, hand tracking, and spatial interactioninto appropriate platform-specific patterns.
• Contribute to and evolve the Altoura Design System, including reusable components, interaction states, responsive behavior, accessibility guidance, and patterns for enterprise workflows.
• Partner closely with engineering to align designs with shadcn-based web components, technical constraints, and reusable implementation patterns.
• Plan and conduct user research, usability testing, workflow validation, and design critiques; turn findings into practical product improvements.
• Use prototyping and AI-assisted tools to explore concepts, communicate behavior, and accelerate iteration while maintaining sound design judgment.
• Provide clear design rationale, document decisions, and communicate effectively with distributed product and engineering teams.
• Mentor junior designers and help raise the quality and consistency of the teams work.

What Were Looking For

• 46 years of professional experience in UI/UX, product design, or a closely related role.
• A portfolio that demonstrates end-to-end product thinking, strong interaction design, polished UI craft, and measurable problem solving.
• Strong proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, auto layout, interactive prototypes, and design-system workflows.
• Experience designing complex SaaS, enterprise, dashboard, workflow, content-creation, or productivity products.
• A strong command of information architecture, interaction patterns, responsive design, accessibility, and usability principles.
• Ability to simplify complex technical concepts without removing essential capability or flexibility.
• Experience collaborating directly with product managers and engineers throughout implementation, not only during design handoff.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain decisions clearly and respond constructively to feedback.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership in an office-based, cross-functional environment.

Good to Have

• Experience with 3D, XR, VR, AR, gaming, simulation, spatial computing, or Unity-based products.
• Familiarity with shadcn, React component systems, or close collaboration with front-end engineering teams.
• Experience designing AI-assisted creation tools, visual editors, node-based workflows, timeline editors, or learning-management products.
• Knowledge of mobile platform conventions for iOS and Android.
• Experience mentoring designers or contributing to a growing design practice.
