We build at the intersection of clinical intelligence and large-scale product engineering - and we're looking for engineers who thrive in that space.The Role :We are looking for a hands-on AI/ML Engineer who can take an AI product from whiteboard to production. You will work closely with product, data, and clinical teams to design and ship real systems - not prototypes - that affect patient outcomes at scale. This is not a research role; ownership, speed, and code quality matter equally here.What You Will Do :- Design and build end-to-end AI features - from problem framing and data pipelines through to deployed, monitored APIs- Develop and maintain production-grade Python services using FastAPI, with clean, well-tested, reviewable code- Architect and implement agentic AI systems including tool-calling workflows, multi-step reasoning pipelines, and LLM orchestration using frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph- Build and manage RAG pipelines leveraging vector databases (Qdrant, Weaviate, Pinecone, or pgvector)- Load, serve, and optimise open-source models using HuggingFace Transformers, vLLM, or similar runtimes- Write complex SQL queries, design schemas, and work with structured clinical and operational data- Translate business and clinical requirements into concrete ML problem statements and implementable solutions- Collaborate in code reviews, uphold engineering standards, and actively reduce technical debtMust-Have Skills :Python & Software Engineering :- 3- 6 years of professional Python development with a strong emphasis on production code quality- Solid understanding of software design principles: clean architecture, testability, modularity, and code review culture- Experience with Git, bitbucketAI / ML Stack :- Hands-on experience building and shipping LLM-powered applications end-to-end- Working knowledge of HuggingFace Transformers, vLLM, or comparable model loading and serving frameworks- Practical experience with agentic AI patterns : tool-calling, function routing, multi-agent coordination, and LLM orchestration (LangChain, LangGraph, or similar)- Experience designing and implementing RAG systems with vector databasesBackend & Data :- Strong SQL skills - complex joins, window functions, query optimisation, schema design- Experience building production APIs with FastAPI (or comparable async Python frameworks)- Comfort working with messy, real-world data and translating it into reliable ML inputsProduct & Domain Thinking :- Demonstrated ability to read a business or clinical requirement and convert it into a scoped ML problem statement- Track record of owning features end-to-end: problem definition, solution design, implementation, deployment, and iterationNice to Have :- Docker : containerising ML services for reproducible, portable deployment- Cloud basics : AWS EC2, Lambda, S3, or equivalent GCP services- LLM fine-tuning : supervised fine-tuning, LoRA/QLoRA, or instruction tuning on domain-specific data- Inference optimisation : quantisation (GPTQ, AWQ, BnB), batching strategies, and vLLM serving tuning- ETL / ELT familiarity : Airflow, dbt, or equivalent data pipeline tools- Experiment tracking : MLflow, Weights & Biases, or similar- Model explainability : SHAP, LIME, or an awareness of interpretability requirements in regulated domains- Prior experience in healthtech, clinical NLP, or working with healthcare data (EHR, lab reports, clinical notes)Why HealthPlix :- Work on AI products that directly impact how doctors diagnose and treat patients across India- Small, high-ownership team - your code ships, your decisions matter- Modern, evolving stack with genuine investment in AI tooling and developer productivity- Competitive compensation, flexible work culture, and significant scope for growth (ref:hirist.tech)
