About the Opportunity

We’re seeking experienced Medical Laboratory Scientists to apply their laboratory medicine expertise to the evaluation and improvement of advanced AI systems.

You’ll create realistic clinical laboratory scenarios and evaluate AI-generated responses for analytical accuracy, laboratory reasoning, result interpretation, workflow appropriateness, and patient safety .

This is expert-level work for practicing laboratory professionals—not routine data annotation.

What You’ll Do

• Develop realistic laboratory scenarios spanning the workflow from specimen receipt through result interpretation .

• Create reference answers that explain the analytical reasoning behind laboratory findings and result calls.

• Evaluate AI-generated outputs for analytical accuracy, clinical appropriateness, and patient safety.

• Identify interpretations that appear reasonable but could result in an incorrect or unsafe laboratory result being released.

• Clearly document your reasoning so other laboratory professionals can understand and evaluate your conclusions.

Required Qualifications

• MLS(ASCP) certification or an equivalent credential, such as AMT MT .

• At least 2 years of clinical laboratory experience .

• Substantial expertise in at least one laboratory department, including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, or blood bank.

• Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, analytical processes, and result interpretation.

• Clear written English for documenting laboratory reasoning.

• Availability to contribute at least 10 hours per week .

Preferred Qualifications

• Specialist certification such as SBB, SH, or SM .

• Reference laboratory experience.

• Transfusion service experience.

• Molecular diagnostics experience.

• Quality assurance or quality control experience.

• Method validation experience.

• Experience participating in CAP inspections or laboratory accreditation activities.

Work Arrangement

• Fully remote and asynchronous.

• Independent contractor engagement.

• Minimum 10 hours per week with no maximum stated.

• Flexible workload that can scale up or down based on your availability and project needs.

• No screen recording, keystroke monitoring, or idle-time tracking.
