Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Dynatrace APM Architect to design, implement, and govern enterprise-wide application performance monitoring and observability solutions using Dynatrace . The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in application performance management, cloud and distributed architectures, observability, monitoring strategy, automation, and performance engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise Dynatrace APM and observability architectures .
  

• Define application monitoring and observability strategies across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  

• Lead Dynatrace implementations, upgrades, migrations, and platform modernization initiatives.
  

• Configure and manage OneAgent, ActiveGate, dashboards, management zones, alerting, and monitoring configurations .
  

• Implement full-stack monitoring for applications, APIs, microservices, databases, infrastructure, containers, and cloud services.
  

• Design effective service-level monitoring, SLOs, SLIs, and business observability solutions.
  

• Analyze application performance issues and perform root-cause analysis using Dynatrace telemetry.
  

• Establish performance baselines and identify performance bottlenecks.
  

• Develop dashboards, custom queries, alerts, and executive-level monitoring views.
  

• Integrate Dynatrace with ITSM, incident-management, DevOps, and collaboration platforms.
  

• Implement monitoring automation using Dynatrace APIs, configuration APIs, and scripting .
  

• Define monitoring standards, governance, naming conventions, tagging, and access controls.
  

• Implement observability solutions for Kubernetes, Docker, cloud-native, and microservices architectures .
  

• Work closely with Application Development, DevOps, Cloud, Infrastructure, SRE, and Security teams.
  

• Provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, and mentoring to monitoring engineers.
  

• Conduct proof-of-concepts and evaluate new Dynatrace capabilities.
  

• Prepare architecture documents, implementation standards, and operational procedures.
  

Required Skills

Dynatrace

• Strong hands-on experience with Dynatrace Application Performance Monitoring (APM) .
  

• Expertise in Dynatrace OneAgent and ActiveGate .
  

• Strong knowledge of Distributed Tracing and Service Flow .
  

• Experience with PurePath analysis and problem/root-cause analysis .
  

• Experience creating Dynatrace dashboards and monitoring configurations.
  

• Strong understanding of Management Zones, tagging, alerting, and access management .
  

• Experience with Dynatrace APIs and automation.
  

• Knowledge of DQL (Dynatrace Query Language) .
  

• Experience with Dynatrace SLOs, SLIs, and service-level monitoring.
  

Application & Cloud Monitoring

• Experience monitoring Java, .NET, Node.js, Python, or other enterprise applications .
  

• Strong understanding of microservices and distributed architectures.
  

• Experience with REST APIs and API monitoring.
  

• Knowledge of databases and database performance monitoring.
  

• Experience monitoring AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
  

• Experience with Kubernetes and containerized applications.
  

• Understanding of server, network, and infrastructure monitoring.
  

Observability & SRE

• Strong understanding of APM, Infrastructure Monitoring, Log Monitoring, Distributed Tracing, and Real User Monitoring (RUM) .
  

• Knowledge of OpenTelemetry and modern observability practices.
  

• Understanding of SLI, SLO, SLA, error budgets, and service health .
  

• Experience implementing observability standards for production environments.
  

• Knowledge of incident management and root-cause analysis.
  

• Familiarity with SRE and DevOps practices.
  

Automation & Integration

• Experience with REST APIs and scripting using Python, PowerShell, or similar languages.
  

• Integrate Dynatrace with tools such as:

  • Azure DevOps
    

  • PagerDuty
    

  • Slack / Microsoft Teams
    

• Experience implementing automated monitoring configuration and deployment through CI/CD pipelines.

Performance Engineering

• Analyze application response times, throughput, error rates, resource utilization, and dependencies.
  

• Identify application and infrastructure bottlenecks.
  

• Perform performance trend analysis and capacity planning.
  

• Establish performance baselines and proactively identify degradation.
  

• Support load and performance testing initiatives.
  

• Recommend application and infrastructure optimization strategies.
  

Good to Have

• Dynatrace Certified Professional / Associate certification.
  

• Experience with Dynatrace Grail and Davis AI .
  

• Knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud-native architectures.
  

• Experience with OpenTelemetry .
  

• Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, or similar observability platforms.
  

• Experience with Terraform and DevOps automation.
  

• Experience with FinOps or cloud cost optimization.
  

• Knowledge of security monitoring and application security.
  

• Experience leading enterprise-scale observability transformation programs.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering , or a related discipline.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have strong experience designing and implementing enterprise Dynatrace APM and observability solutions across complex application and cloud environments. The candidate should possess excellent architecture, troubleshooting, automation, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to establish organization-wide observability standards and lead large-scale Dynatrace initiatives.
