Academic Counsellor

Job Summary
Ganpat University Goa is seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Academic Counsellor to support student admissions and outreach activities. The incumbent will be responsible for contacting prospective students, counselling them regarding various academic programs offered by the University, guiding them through the admission process, and assisting in achieving enrolment targets. The role requires excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and a student-centric approach.
Key Responsibilities
Student Counselling & Admissions
- Contact prospective students through calls, emails, WhatsApp, and other communication channels.
- Counsel students and parents regarding undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate programs offered by Ganpat University Goa.
- Understand student aspirations, academic backgrounds, and career goals to recommend suitable programs.
- Provide detailed information regarding course structure, eligibility criteria, fee structure, scholarships, career opportunities, and admission procedures.
- Follow up regularly with prospective students to convert inquiries into admissions.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions and admission progress in the CRM/database.
Lead Management
- Manage and track inquiries generated through digital marketing campaigns, websites, educational fairs, walk-ins, referrals, and other sources.
- Ensure timely response to all leads and maintain high conversion rates.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly lead status and admission reports.
- Coordinate with the admissions team to ensure smooth processing of applications.
Outreach & Engagement
- Participate in admission drives, education fairs, school visits, career guidance sessions, and promotional events.
- Organize and conduct online and offline counselling sessions, webinars, and information sessions.
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, colleges, coaching centers, and other educational stakeholders.
Admission Process Support
- Guide applicants in completing application forms and submitting required documents.
- Assist students throughout the admission cycle, including application submission, document verification, fee payment, and enrollment.
- Coordinate with academic and administrative departments to address student queries and concerns.
Reporting & Compliance
- Maintain confidentiality of student information and admission records.
- Generate periodic reports related to leads, conversions, admissions, and counselling activities.
- Ensure adherence to University policies, admission guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- 13 years of experience in admissions, academic counselling, student recruitment, education sales, or a related field.
- Freshers with excellent communication and counselling skills may also apply.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of Hindi, Konkani, Marathi, or other regional languages will be an added advantage.
- Strong persuasion, counselling, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to handle multiple leads and work in a target-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
