Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Student Counselor located in Chennai. The Student Counselor will be responsible for providing guidance and counseling to students regarding academic and personal development, facilitating individual and group sessions to address mental health concerns, assessing students' needs and referring them to appropriate resources, and maintaining accurate records of student interactions and progress. The Counselor will also collaborate with other staff and faculty members to provide a supportive and inclusive environment for students.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or any Deg also ok
Professional counseling certification or license in the state of Tamil Nadu
Minimum of 2 years of experience in counseling or related field
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with diverse populations
Experience in a higher education setting is preferred
Fluency in English and Tamil is required
Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
Dedication to providing high-quality, student-centered services
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in counseling
